Terms and Conditions

These terms cover the macOS apps published on ontagonal.app (Snipkin, Tweakle, Shakelf and Quotch) and the Snipkin licenses that will be sold once paid plans start. They are written to be read, not to be survived.
Today: free early access
Nothing is on sale at the moment. Snipkin is free during early access, with every feature unlocked: no trial, no account, no card. Tweakle, Shakelf and Quotch are free.
The copy of Snipkin you download from this site during early access has no time limit. It never updates itself, so it will not turn into a version with paid plans unless you install one.
Your 14-day free trial will begin the first time you open a version of Snipkin with paid plans. Everyone will get the full 14 days, whenever they installed the app, so using Snipkin during early access does not use up any of it. After the trial, full-screen capture will stay free, and region, window and scrolling capture will need Snipkin Pro.
The terms in full
Once paid plans start, Snipkin will be sold as described below. The parts that are not about buying, such as who makes the apps, support, requirements and governing law, apply already today.
1. Who you are dealing with
The apps are made and published by Timotei Petre, an independent developer based in Romania (“I”, “me”). Contact: [email protected] (hi (at) ontagonal.app).
When you buy a license, the seller for that transaction will be FastSpring, acting as merchant of record. Their terms will apply to the purchase itself alongside these terms.
2. The apps are licensed, not sold
Buying a license will give you the right to use the app. It will not transfer ownership of the software.
3. What a license will allow

One license will cover the Macs you personally use. The code is verified offline and is not tied to a specific machine, so you will be able to activate it on your own Macs, a laptop and a desktop, for example. It is not for sharing with other people; buy the quantity you need and each purchased unit will give you one code.
Please do not publish, share or resell license codes. The codes are verified offline, which is what lets the apps work without an account or an internet connection; the flip side is that a published code can be used by anyone who finds it. Treat it like a password.
4. The free tier and the trial
Snipkin will include a 14-day free trial of everything, and full-screen capture will keep working free forever after the trial ends. You will be able to evaluate the app fully before paying anything. No card will be required for the trial.
5. Delivery
Licenses will be delivered as a code by email, normally within minutes of purchase. The app itself is free to download from its page on this site, and a purchase will unlock features in the app you already have, so there will be nothing else to wait for.
If your code does not arrive, check your spam folder first, then write to [email protected] (support (at) ontagonal.app) with your order number and I will sort it out.
6. Support
Support is by email at [email protected] (support (at) ontagonal.app). I am one person, so I do not promise a response time, but these are small apps and I usually know the answer straight away.
7. Requirements
The apps require a Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or later, Apple silicon or Intel, since they ship as universal binaries. If your Mac does not meet that, the app will not run, and once paid plans start, the 14-day trial will be there so you can find that out before paying.
8. Updates
Updates are provided when there are updates to provide. A lifetime license will include future updates of that app. A new, separate app is a new product, not an update.
9. Warranty and liability
You have a legal guarantee of conformity. If you are a consumer in the EU, the law entitles you to digital content that works as described. If it does not, you can ask me to fix it, and if I cannot fix it in reasonable time, you are entitled to a price reduction or a refund. This right is free, lasts as long as the law provides, and applies whatever else this page says.
Beyond that legal guarantee: the software is provided as it is, without a promise that it will be free of defects or fit for a particular purpose. I limit my liability to the maximum extent the law allows, which, for a consumer, is never below what the paragraph above gives you.
10. Refunds
Purchases will come with 14 days to change your mind, no questions asked. The details are on the refund policy page.
11. Ending a license
You can stop using an app whenever you like. I may end a license if it is being used in a way these terms prohibit, for example a code published publicly and used by many people, but I would contact you first.
12. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. A change never applies retroactively to a purchase you have already made.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by Romanian law. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country of residence.
